In nursery school, learning through experience is fundamental, and this year our little explorers are experiencing an extraordinary adventure thanks to the “A Journey Around the World” project! A path that will last the entire school year and which, through the English language, will lead them to discover the customs, festivities, and traditions of different countries around the world.
Guiding us on this special journey is a curious little spider, who with his magic web crosses continents, exploring distant lands and meeting new friends. Through engaging activities and creative workshops, children will have the opportunity to learn more about our planet, developing curiosity and openness towards different cultures.
The first stages of our journey
Our journey began in October with a very special destination: America! On the occasion of Halloween, the children discovered the origin of this typically American holiday. We organized themed activities and, to conclude in style, we went up to the primary school for the traditional “trick or treat,” fully immersing ourselves in this fun custom.
In December, with the arrival of Christmas, our little spider flew to the North Pole to discover Santa Claus’s house! To get into the Christmas spirit, we read a story in English every day hidden in our special Advent calendar. Furthermore, the children created Christmas cards decorated with golden threads, decorated the tree, and participated in many creative activities related to the winter holidays.
With winter in full swing, our journey has led us to discover a fascinating and frozen place: Antarctica! Here we learned all about penguins and their habitat. To make the experience even more engaging, the children created small ecosystems in a bottle, filling transparent containers with blue tempera, water, polystyrene, and a mini penguin, thus reproducing the natural environment of these cute animals.
The next destinations? Stay tuned!
Our journey around the world does not stop here! In the coming months, we will continue to explore new countries, discovering other traditions, holidays, and cultures.
What will be our little spider’s next stops? Stay connected to find out!
