Early Childhood School

Early Childhood School

In the Early Childhood School we welcome children during a delicate phase, their first separation from their parents. We accompany them in the new environment and in their relationships with other pupils, with the aim of teaching them to recognize emotions, feelings, and personal needs and to express them appropriately.

Children are educated to wonder at the world, to generosity, to welcoming others, and to sharing; they grow through the process of self-identification and the progressive achievement of autonomy.

In Focus

Presentation of the Early Childhood School

Take a few minutes, make yourself comfortable, and come with us to discover the early childhood school of the Don Carlo San Martino Institute. We will introduce you to our spaces, our educational approach, and our educational project!

HUMANISTIC
EXPERIENCE

Children are involved in activities such as reading aloud, animation with theatrical activities, and the library in order to support them on their journey to becoming readers and observers of the world. Reading stimulates listening and attention, helps children reflect and express emotions, express their impressions, and enrich their vocabulary.

LINGUISTIC
EXPERIENCE

Through the learning by doing method, with games, rhymes, and daily activities, we help children assimilate new sounds and understand their meanings.

We enable children to come into contact with the language through an organized routine, alternating moments in English and others in Italian.

SCIENTIFIC-TECHNOLOGICAL
EXPERIENCE

Through observation of reality and by exploiting children’s innate curiosity, their desire to explore the world and to play, we help children discover the “scientific” components of reality, its constants and its variables. Children learn to group and order objects and materials according to different criteria, identify some properties, compare and evaluate quantities, and perform measurements using tools within their reach.

CREATIVE-EXPRESSIVE
EXPERIENCE

Games and motor experiences that help children acquire awareness of their own body, in relation to themselves and to the surrounding environment; artistic activities that give children the “right to get dirty” by coming into contact with color and matter, develop fine motor skills through manipulation of materials, and promote an education in beauty; musical activities that, through different sound sources, aim to develop perception and listening.

Our Approach

Educational - Formative Approach

The educational activities designed for the early childhood school arise from careful reflection, thorough planning, and the teachers’ particular sensitivity in observing and listening to the needs of the little ones, stimulating them to make discoveries and process experiences. Children learn to act, not merely to react to stimuli from the outside.

Play is at the foundation of educational activities and allows children to express their joys and their fears, as well as to show their tendencies and inclinations: the teachers, attentive observers, will leverage these to support and sustain the children’s growth.

Education in beauty and creativity, fundamental to our educational activities, will be encouraged through workshop activities: the processes of manipulating materials and using color are a precious opportunity for the growth of aesthetic sense in each child.

Families, by enrolling their children, become part of the school community. Families have a primary role in implementing the school’s educational project and commit to promoting compliance with the regulations aimed at the proper conduct of educational and teaching activities. A serene climate of trust and collaboration can only foster the school’s educational work.

School Grant is the contribution provided by the Lombardy Region to financially support families and the educational path of students aged 3 to 21 for the purchase of educational materials, merit, school vouchers, and support for students with disabilities. School Grant contributions are intended for students residing in Lombardy who attend state or state-recognized schools. The contribution supports families in freely choosing to direct their children to state-recognized schools. Each year the Lombardy Region deliberates on the contributions. Detailed information can be found by visiting www.regione.lombardia.it
The state-recognized school is a public school recognized by the Ministry of Education pursuant to Law 62 of 2000. The school manages its educational and cultural orientation project with full autonomy in compliance with ministerial regulations. Teachers are carefully selected by the School Principal and supported to promote and ensure pedagogical continuity. Classes are formed with few students so that everyone can be followed individually and valued in their educational path.
How to Enroll
Enrollment begins with an initial contact with the office to welcome the interest; this is followed by an appointment with the school principal to learn about the institution, present the educational offer and services, customize the pathways evaluated with the parent, and visit the school; at the conclusion of the meeting there is the administrative act that proceeds to formalize the parent’s commitment to enroll the child at the institution.
