Spring Section

Spring Section

The spring section is intended for children between the ages of 2 (turned by December 31st) and 3 (not yet turned). This new educational offering, positioned between two services (Nursery and Kindergarten), does not simply replicate features of a Nursery or Kindergarten, but acts as an innovative service that takes into account specific needs related to the particular age group it serves.

Around 22-24 months, strategic developmental milestones are reached, opening windows of opportunity that transform skills into competences; that is, a transition from knowing how to do things to the awareness of knowing how to do that thing.

Presentation of the Spring Section

Take a few minutes, make yourself comfortable, and join us in discovering the spring section and the kindergarten of the Don Carlo San Martino Institute. We will introduce you to our spaces, our educational approach, and our training project!
HUMANISTIC
EXPERIENCE

Children are involved in activities such as reading aloud, animation with theatrical paths, and periodic library appointments in order to support them on their journey to becoming readers and observers of the world. In particular, the “#io leggo perché” initiative educates and promotes reading with the involvement and contribution of parents.

Linguistic
EXPERIENCE

Through the learning by doing method, with games, nursery rhymes, songs, readings, and daily activities, we lead children to assimilate new sounds and understand their meanings to stimulate their linguistic growth.

We provide children with the opportunity to come into contact with the language through an organized routine, alternating moments in English and others in Italian.

Scientific-technological
experience

Through dedicated activities, such as pouring, we promote the development of specific skills.
The child learns to group and order objects and materials according to different criteria, identifies some of their properties, compares and evaluates quantities, and performs measurements using tools within their reach.

Creative-expressive
experience
Games and motor experiences that help children gain awareness of their own bodies in relation to themselves and the surrounding environment; artistic activities that give children the “right to get dirty” by coming into contact with color and different materials, developing fine motor skills through the manipulation of matter and promoting an education in beauty; musical activities that, through various sound sources, aim to develop perception and listening.
Our approach

Educational - Training Approach

The child discovers the world: they manipulate, assemble, and build when immersed in a positive and respectful climate, in an environment that allows freedom of movement. The approach to activities is slow in pace and short in duration, to allow the child to experience things without particular fears or performance anxiety, placing their interest within the peer group as well. There are many workshops we design every year for the spring section:
Discovering the world with creative workshops: children are engaged in manipulation and pouring activities, movement games, and “messy” activities (cream, clay, and tempera).

Play: through exploration and discovery, the child learns to observe the reality surrounding them and to become self-aware. The development of sensory-perceptual skills is the basis of all forms of intelligence, and color is one of the first characteristics of objects that strikes a child. Every activity encompasses cognitive, expressive, socializing, and communicative areas.

Services
Pre and post school

To facilitate working parents, children can arrive at school at 7:00 AM and stay until 6:00 PM. Children can use the post-school service from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM; during these hours, an educator guides the children through playful-creative experiences.

Canteen

A service managed directly by the school's qualified staff, which proposes a food and environmental education project every year, such as the "educational vegetable garden" or "the best menu."

By enrolling their children, families become part of the school community. Families play a primary role in the realization of the school’s educational project and commit to fostering compliance with the regulations aimed at the correct execution of teaching and educational activities. A serene atmosphere of trust and collaboration can only benefit the school’s educational action.

The state-equivalent school is a public school recognized by the Ministry of Education pursuant to Law 62 of 2000.

The school manages the educational and cultural orientation project in full autonomy, in compliance with ministerial regulations.

Teachers are carefully selected by the School Principal and supported to foster and guarantee pedagogical continuity.

Classes are formed by a small number of students so that everyone can be followed individually and valued in their school journey.

How to enroll
Enrollment is requested by parents, or those acting on their behalf, by completing the form available at the Management Office. At the time of completion, all parents must provide a self-certification certifying immunity to diseases or the vaccinations carried out as provided for by ministerial circular 1622 regarding mandatory vaccinations, referring to Law 119 of July 31, 2017, “Urgent provisions regarding vaccine prevention.”
