Motor Skills Workshop

Motor Skills Workshop

Workshop description

Physical and Sports Education

Physical education accompanies the physical, cognitive, and psycho-social development of children and adolescents through different stages of growth.

Spring Section (2-3 years): Physical education focuses on games and experiences that help children become aware of their own body, in relation to themselves and the environment, developing respect and relationships with others.

4-5 years: Physical activity becomes more complex, helping children consolidate their understanding of the body in space and within the group, stimulating cognitive and psycho-social development.

Primary School (first three years): Physical activity strengthens basic motor patterns (walking, jumping, throwing, etc.) and integrates with other school subjects, promoting psycho-physical balance and confidence.

Primary School (final two years): Collaboration and fair play are introduced through sports (basketball, football, volleyball, etc.), helping children develop self-criticism and strengthen social principles.

Lower Secondary School: Physical education contributes to the development of personal identity and individual potential, working on autonomy, relational skills, and mastery of motor patterns, challenged by the changes of puberty.

Physical activity, at every stage, aims at the overall development of the person, enhancing bodily awareness, relationships, and learning.

Throughout the year, motor skills enhancement courses are introduced through exposure to different disciplines such as athletics, swimming, judo, table tennis… with the collaboration of sports centers and professionals who support the subject teacher in observing and developing the motor skills program.
